In 1973, Delta Sigma Theta established the Arts & Letters Commission. Their mission was to support Black women in the arts. In keeping with the legacy of our sorority, the San Francisco Alumnae Chapter's Arts and Letters Committee is committed to implementing programs that represent creative expressions in performing, visual and literary arts. The performing arts is a rich part of our African American history and we strive to keep that history alive. We maintain a commitment to the National Arts and Letters Commission Initiatives and Programs by hosting Red Carpet events,  Delta Authors on Tour, and Delta Reads events.
